- Bars must be 4 inches (10cm) or less apart from each other. Toddlers and little children are tiny. They’re so tiny they can fit into everything, including your window bars. And yes, they will want to squeeze themselves out merely because it’s fun. They’re your little explorers, remember? If they get between the bars, they fall. So keep the security bars close to each other as much as possible.
- Permanent guards. If you live on the 12th floor of the building, choose to install permanent window guards.
- Make sure you install your window guards in all your windows especially if they can be reached by your child. It is better to be safe than sorry.
